Graffiti Wall

27 11 2007

Our topic of assets took on a new look today as students wrote about how their families show support to them. The picture below is the result of our labors.

If you are a student of mine (or anyone’s), please respond to what you see.

  • Does it make sense?
  • Can you read any of it?
  • What would you add to it?
  • What is your FIRST impression/overall feeling of it?

I made a sample comment for you!
My first impression of the picture is that it is “dark.” Perhaps it’s the colors used or the sheer busy-ness of it. I just find it dark, and a bit disturbing.

I liked my word (this is micheal) commpation because I think my parents give me lots of support. I know that they give me support because I am in school, and I have cloths.

yes it makes sence why were doing this project. I can make out some of the words but not alot of them. I wouldn’t change anything because i feel i put everything i wanted to put. I think its a good idea because we can express how we feel and a weight might lift off somebodys shoulder because they might say something they have been wanting to say but couldnt talk to anybody about it and now they can.

i do not agree with justin with the first one because most of it is readable

I THINK THAT IT MAKES SENCE BECAUSE EVERYONE WROTE WHAT THEY HAD TO WRITE AND IT WAS RELATED TO HOW ARE FAMILIES SUPPORT US. I SAID IT DOES MAKE SENCE BACAUSE IF YOU LOOK AT IT CLOSLY YOU CAN SEE SOME OF THE WORDS CLEARLY BUT NOT ALL WORDS BECAUSE THEY ARE WRITEN OVER AND OVER AGIAN. THEY ARE PROBABLY MISSED SPELLED BUT MOST OF THEM ARE CLEAR AND SPELLED RIGHT. I WOULD ADD A LOT OF CREATED IDEAS. MY IMPERASSION IS THAT IT WAS A GOOD OF THAT WE DID THIS BECAUSE IT MIGHT CHANGE THEIR ATTITUDES TO THEIR FAMILY.

steve i disagree with all of your thoughts

Justin said “I like Kerry’s the most because it is clear.”

I agree that Kerry really put more into the “quality” of the pic than the “quantities” of the writing he put on the board.

Micheal said “…they give me clothes…”

And nice ones at that – just think of the parents like those in “A Child Called It” – extremely neglectful and hurtful…

So life could always be worse…

I agree with steve it’s not readable

James – stop yelling!!

Just kidding. What I mean is that when you WRITE IN ALL CAPITALS, it looks like you’re YELLING!!!

Keep that in mind as you write in the future.

Otherwise, awesome reflection, James.

justin (12:50:27) :

trevor i dont know what you are talking about make it more clear

Justin, I think that Trevor makes a ton of sense. Trevor said

I think he means that the graffiti wall was a chance for people to speak out about things that happen in their lives. Sometimes people don’t like to talk about stuff in person with a group, but given the chance to write it, they open up. This can be really helpful for them.

Nice work, both of you!

Yeah, Justin was right. Kerry should get all the credit for his graffit picture.

I think we should add more to the wall. Such as more pictures, other assets, etc.
